siOPTICA GmbH from Jena has secured growth financing with beteiligungsmanagement thüringen GmbH (bm|t) and Capital-E II ARKIV (Capital-E), based in Antwerp, with a volume of more than €4m. With the fresh capital, siOPTICA will be able to extend their product range of switchable privacy filters, expand their protective rights portfolio, adapt existing solutions to new requirements of customers, and further develop innovative privacy technology generations. At the same time they will also be able to expand their global distribution network and strengthen their market position. With this transaction, the Belgian venture capital fund Capital-E and a fund managed by bm|t directly acquired a shareholding in siOPTICA.
siOPTICA GmbH was founded in Jena in 2013 with the aim of establishing innovative special solutions primarily in the field of optics on the market. The company provides technologies in the field of privacy filters which do not have the severe loss of light of conventional privacy filters and also allow for several modes of operation. The solutions of siOPTICA provide a high customer benefit, including in the sectors of automotive manufacturing, automatic teller machines, pay terminals as well as in the field of consumer mobile terminal devices.
