GRUENDELPARTNER assists growth fund Mittelstand Sachsen and S-UBG with acquisition and financing of IT service

The growth fund Mittelstand Sachsen Plus (“WMS”) and S-Unternehmensbeteiligungsgesellschaft der Sparkasse Leipzig mbH (“S-UBG”) have acquired a majority stake in IT-Service Leipzig GmbH (IT-S) along with the existing management. The transaction included turning the reins over to the next generation.

Corporate partners Dr. Steffen Fritzsche and Dr. Mirko Gründel their team assisted WMS and S-UBG with both the legal due diligence and the contract negotiations, which were quite complex because of the existing investment structure. GRUENDELPARTNER has assisted WMS and S-UBG for many years with financings and M&A transactions in the mid-sized company and private equity markets.

IT-S is one of Germany’s leading companies in the field of non-destructive testing of materials (isotope technology) and acts as a service provider for instruments, equipment, and accessories while also providing service and maintenance. The company has positioned itself in an attractive, stable niche with high barriers to entry and benefits from the strict regulatory requirements on the testing of technical equipment.
