GRUENDELPARTNER advises TGFS on exit of HiperScan GmbH
The Dutch-Belgian Fagron group has acquired Dresden-based HiperScan GmbH, a portfolio company of Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS). Fagron is a global leader in the pharmaceutical production of personalised medicines for hospitals, pharmacies, clinics and patients in 35 countries around the world. Fargon employs over 3,000 people worldwide.
HiperScan GmbH was founded in 2006 as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS) Dresden. Based on the micromirror technology developed at the Fraunhofer Institute, a high-performance yet low-cost near-infrared (NIR) spectrometer for pharmacies and other industries was developed.
The TGFS has actively supported the company's development since summer 2010. This is the second exit in 2022 for the TGFS, which has supported over 80 founders and start-ups in the Free State of Saxony since 2008 and is currently in its second fund generation.
In addition to TGFS and the founders, the other investors High-Tech Gründerfonds, Fraunhofer Venture and HCS Beteiligungen have also sold their stakes.
GRUENDELPARTNER advised TGFS on the legal aspects of this exit.
