GRUENDELPARTNER advises TGFS on the exit from HiperScan GmbH
The Dutch-Belgian Fagron Group has acquired HiperScan GmbH, based in Dresden, a portfolio company of Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS). Fagron is a global leader in the pharmaceutical manufacture of personalised medicines for hospitals, pharmacies, clinics and patients in 35 countries worldwide. Fagron employs over 3,000 people globally.
HiperScan GmbH was founded in 2006 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems (IPMS) in Dresden. Building on the micro-mirror technology developed at the Fraunhofer Institute, the company succeeded in developing a high-performance yet cost-effective near-infrared (NIR) spectrometer for pharmacies and other sectors.
TGFS has actively supported the company’s development since summer 2010. For TGFS, which has supported over 80 founders and start-ups in the Free State of Saxony since 2008 – currently in its second fund generation – this is already the second exit in 2022.
In addition to the TGFS and the founders, the other investors – High-Tech Gründerfonds, Fraunhofer Venture and HCS Beteiligungen – have also sold their stakes.
GRUENDELPARTNER provided legal advice to TGFS in connection with this exit.
