GRUENDELPARTNER advises Litherm Technologies on EUR 6.5 million seed financing round

Litherm Technologies GmbH, based in Wernigerode, has successfully completed a seed financing round totalling more than 6.5 million euros. In addition to bmp Ventures with the IBG funds, Graymont (Canada), SkreenHouse Ventures (UK), Kalkfabrik Netstal AG (Switzerland), Zeitinger Invest, Breakthrough Energy Foundation (USA) and UnternehmerTUM Funding for Innovators participated in the financing round.

Litherm was founded in 2019 with the aim of creating an industrially scalable pathway for the climate-neutral production of lime and cement. The company is developing an all-electric calcination technology to decarbonise the lime and cement industry, addressing one of the world's most CO₂-intensive industrial sectors. An electrically powered high-temperature process is intended to completely replace the use of fossil fuels in the thermal processing of mineral raw materials. Litherm was the first German company to be accepted into the renowned Breakthrough Energy Fellowship programme.

The funds raised as part of the financing round will be used in particular for further technological scaling and the construction of the first industrial demonstration plants.
