GRUENDELPARTNER advises KATHI on its acquisition by the Oetker Group

The Oetker Group has acquired KATHI GmbH, a manufacturer specialising in baking mixes and flours, based in Halle (Saale).

Founded in 1951, the family-run company KATHI is deeply rooted in the hearts of consumers, particularly in eastern Germany, thanks to its baking mixes and cake specialities. Both the production facility in Halle and KATHI’s staff are to be taken over by the Oetker Group. KATHI will continue to operate as an independent company under the current management team led by Marco Thiele.

With this acquisition, the Oetker Group aims to further expand its presence in the aforementioned market segments. Once all formalities have been completed, the transaction is expected to be finalised this autumn.
